AIA International Women’s Day Breakfast
PTW was delighted to attend Australian Institute of Architects' International Women's Day Breakfast this morning at Sydney Town Hall. With the topic "The many faces of influence and impact in Architecture", it was inspiring to hear from keynote speaker Abbie Galvin, the 24th NSW Government Architect, along with panelists Diane Jones, PTW Executive Director and UNSW Adjunct Professor FBE; Caroline Pidcock LFRAIA, Director of Pidcock; Kim Crestani, City Architect of City of Parramatta; Jan McCredie, Urban Designer of McCredie Urban Design and HELEN LOCHHEAD, Dean of UNSW FBE. The key message of environmental sustainability was a major focus, with a parting quote from Abbie by Leonard Bernstein, "To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time."
