Forum Talks at PTW Architects
UNSW Associate Professor Matthias (Hank) Haeusler shared his reflection on upcoming issues and challenges of artificial intelligence and machine learning in architecture and urban design in his recent Forum presentation, A+U = AI. He discussed the potential of ‘Centaur Pod’ the world’s largest soft robotics kinetic structure and ‘Giraffe’ a two-sided network platform for the AEC industry that gives non-computational designers access to computational tools. As Director of the Faculty of Built Environment Computational Design Degree Program Hank advances an engaged approach to teaching, research and software development that connects graduates to issues of interest to the profession; develops new knowledge on living with 21st century technologies for the AEC industry; and program platforms that change the way architecture and urban design is produced and documented. Tiara Dobbs, PTW Computational Design Lead hosted a lively informal question and answer session following the presentation.
