Intercontinental Long Beach Resort

The Intercontinental development comprises a hotel of 339 rooms,115 serviced apartments, 5 villas, 2,300m2 conference/ banquet hall, retail, spa and sports club amenities.

The design of the hotel was inspired by a marine theme, chosen for its iconic form. The design of the hotel floorplates create an unique and iconic form and now famous destination.

The building was designed to incorporate a respect for the environment. The precinct design responded to the local climate which features torrential downpours, humidity and heat.

The open plan design of the public amenities and guest room levels encourages sea breezes to be drawn through the building creating an optimal comfortable and sustainable environment.

The proposed perimeter swimming pools and ponds assisted in providing a sustainable approach to the cooling effect. The landscape design creates focal points for leisure and recreation through a diverse variety of enjoyable leisure spaces, thereby maximising guest enjoyment and relaxation.
