PTW successful at the 2016 UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence
Another successful night for PTW at the property industry’s highly regarded UDIA NSW Meriton Awards for Excellence with two of our projects taking out an award. Alexander, Barangaroo South by Lendlease won ‘High-Density Development’ and Discovery Point by Frasers Property Australia, winner of ‘Mixed-Use Development’.

Alexander, Barangaroo South developed by Lendlease

The Alexander building marks the south-west corner of the Barangaroo development. It celebrates Sydney’s unique harbour side setting and mediates between the traditional scale of the Sydney waterfront and the high-rise commercial towers to the east. The building has an active lofty 6m high ground floor with four distinctive apartment lobbies facing Globe Street amongst retail and food outlets which orientate to the active promenade waterfront creating private living in a public place. All apartments were designed to optimise the attractive views to Darling Harbour with living rooms opening to generous balconies. The façade of the building consists of a permeable operable shutter system, articulated by planting elements creating the counterpoint to the facade.

Discovery Point developed by Frasers Property Australia

Stage 8, 9 and 10 of Discovery Point at Wolli Creek consists of a podium of townhouses with two 17-storey residential towers on top. The visually separate podium responds to the pedestrian scale and character of the street. The introduction of curved elements acts as a counterpoint to the strong grid-like character of the tower facades. The building forms a dramatic composition on a highly visible site with broad frontage to the river. Apartments were designed to maximise views and access to sunlight.
