Hickson Road Bistro

The Roslyn Packer Theatre completed by PTW Architects has an adjacent restaurant site. The restaurant provides for the local breakfast trade, lunch patrons, and pre-theatre diners, followed by traditional restaurant patrons, after-show light meals and bar facilities.

The restaurant has street frontage, but the main entry will be through the Theatre lobby. The space is mostly internalised allowing for lighting to have theatrical impact throughout the day and night. PTW Interiors opted for warm timber parquet flooring with the walls clad in perforated black leather panels. These panels line the three main walls and help define an asymmetric space. A long, bar counter with patron seating anchors the rear wall and separates the open kitchen from the seating, a banquette then separates the table seating from the bar. A large red glass screen separates the restaurant from the theatre lobby, maintaining a visual connection between the two.
