NAIDOC Week

This year PTW celebrated NAIDOC Week with a screening of a lecture given by Kevin O’Brien on his project ‘Finding Country’ accompanied by native snacks including teas and various seeds served with bread. Finding Country is an ongoing work Kevin started in 2005 and seeks to use Indigenous knowledge systems as guides in practice and teaching in the built environment sector, alongside determining the history of the conceptualisation of Country. We will also be celebrating the milestone of our recently endorsed Reconciliation Action Plan (reflect phase), by Reconciliation Australia.

NAIDOC Week is a celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Always was, always will be. This theme recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years, and they continue to be the knowledge keepers of the land today.
