Penrith Public School, NSW

Forward with Pride

The project scope for this CBD school refurbishment involves 12 new permanent teaching spaces; associated Outdoor Learning Spaces (COLA) and the upgrade of existing staff and administration facilities to accommodate a projected school population of 700 children. Guided by the DE’s five Education principles, consultation with school and community stakeholders (PRG) established:

• The importance of configuring the building elements to create a diversity of spaces and links so learning could occur informally and formally, externally and internally.
• Bold architectural forms and street presence to give identity to the school in its CBD location.
