Andrew Andersons AO


Andrew Andersons AO has been involved with many major architectural projects in Australia and abroad in a professional career spanning over forty five years. Andrew graduated from Sydney University with the University Medal and went on to complete the degree of Master of Architecture at Yale University. In 1966-67 Andrew worked with Arup Associates, architects in London. From the late 1960’s to 1988 Andrew worked on numerous public buildings in NSW including two Sulman Award wing additions to the Art Gallery of NSW, and major additions to the State Parliament House, State Library of NSW as well as various restoration and civic design projects, such as the 1988 improvements to Circular Quay. In 1983 he was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to architecture.

Since joining PTW as a director in 1989 he has continued with major projects for the Arts as well as in the design of major residential and commercial projects. These include additions to the National Gallery Canberra, Sydney Theatre, City Recital Hall Angel Place, 30 The Bond, and numerous residential buildings. Among these are a number of important apartment buildings that have set a new benchmark for quality and value such as “Quay Grand” and “The Pier”Walsh Bay, in association with Mirvac, “Darling Island”, Pyrmont, and “Waterfront” at Kingston Foreshores Canberra. Currently under construction are “North” at Milsons Point and “The Onslow” in Elizabeth Bay. “The Bondi” at Bondi Beach was completed in May 2009.
