Prior to joining PTW in 2021, Spence worked for Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) since 1987 where he was an Associate Partner.

Spence is a highly creative designer who always provides effective solutions from different approaches and a valuable partner able to turn the client’s vision into reality.

Spence’s problem-solving approach and quick-witted design skills have also been deployed in his role as a design advisor on numerous architectural design panels. These include the RIBA Competitions Panel and the CABE National Design Review Panel.

At PTW, Spence has been involved with major urban design, mixed use, infrastructure and cultural projects across our international practice. While at RSHP he worked on many award winning projects. Recently these have included the Innotech commercial development in Shenzhen which contains the ‘Landmark Building’, a public cultural facility, containing exhibition, lecture and conference facilities. Other projects includes a residential complex in Qiantan, Shanghai; an educational campus for H-Farm on the outskirts of Venice; a masterplan and pedestrian bridge for the River Arno in Florence; a commercial project in the historic Chelsea district of New York and on a smaller scale, an art pavilion for Chateau La Coste in the South of France.
