The twin buildings enclosed a landscaped public space oriented to the sun with an outlook south to the city skyline. The buildings were stepped from 6 to 3 storeys reducing in scale to the edge of the site where adjacent to the surrounding residences.
The building was articulated into smaller elements, each defined by a projecting roof. This created an animated profile when seen against the sky appearing as a group of smaller buildings rather than one large structure. The stepped form allowed a series of roof top terraces with views to the city skyline.
The two buildings sat atop a common 2 level podium car park within which was located resident parking, storage and a pool and gymnasium. The building’s structure was a hybrid of in-situ concrete, precast and masonry block, unusually the lofty roofs were constructed in concrete.
