Project Finding Iris

This ongoing project, led by Diane Jones and PTW’s research architect Ann Quinlan, looks at reducing social segregation between the silver generation and the broader community by investigating the qualities of living spaces and places.

With the ageing of the ‘baby boomer’ generation, there is a cultural shift and renewed interest in differing types of settings that are not ‘ageist’ and where people may live lives of well-being, supported by the social and urban infrastructure.

An ethics approval was submitted to UNSW in November 2017 with approval granted in January 2018. (HC17971)
