The design builds on the vision of the Mascot town centre masterplan, consisting of generous public and private space and careful integration with available transport links. The master plan is structured around a network of interconnected landscaped areas; public parks, communal courtyards, retail streets and recreational zones.
Buildings are arranged to respond to the differing conditions in and around the site. They reduce in height toward Church Avenue to the North and the northern end of Kent Street reinforcing the lower scale pedestrian orientated character of these streets. The park is the landscape focus not just for this site but the local area. The architecture of the buildings around the park responds to this focus, with their dynamic architecture and distinctive forms.
The architecture of the development is colourful, somewhat playful with a rich and varied materials palette. Although one development each building has an identity of its own, each is defined by a distinctive architectural language, each carefully composed in relation to its neighbours.
This project will be a convenient, vital, colourful and comfortable place to live, with a strong sense of community, high standards of amenity, distinctive architecture and attractive public spaces.
